Tennessee Titans releases WR Hunter and RB Sankey

continue to clean up the team underperforming wide receiver.

After traded to the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks ago, the team released Justin Hunter on Friday. They also got rid of the third-year running back .

Hunter had already publicly admitted that he was close to leaving the team, so his release was just a matter of time.

Hunter completed three catches for 27 yards when playing the preseason game against the Miami Dolphins backup defensive lineup, which is obviously not enough to make the player who only completed 50 catches in the past two seasons stay in the team. Hunter’s performance wasn’t enough to impress the team, on the contrary, the fifth-round pick wide receiver Tajae Sharpe and veteran Richard Matthews left a deep impression on the team.

As Sankey, the 2014 draft pick, was replaced by the DeMarco Murray and rookie Derrick Henry and the overcrowding team has no position.

It can be considered Sankey will find opportunities in other teams. Hunter still has an excellent athletic ability, but the key of his is to transform the poor and unstable performances to threats in the weekly competition.
